Lena Santana
Lena Santana is a designer who is based in London but was born in Salvador / Brazil and lived in Rio de janeiro before moving to London / Uk where she studied fashion design. At the moment she is focusing on the using of vintage fabrics and "transforming them into beautifully fitting, conceptual garments with a twist of modern couture" (www.lenasantana.com/).
At the wear is art exhibit she is presenting a special piece which fascinated me and the model who was wearing it. The pattern of the shoes and of the short jumpsuit remembered me of the skin of reptiles. Above that she is wearing a garment which could be inspired by a tailcoat and is made from a fabulous fabric. The entire outfit has a lot of details and for me it is an extraordinary outfit with a style of modern couture.

great spot for a little italian snack
In Falckensteinstrasse in the Wrangelkiez/ Berlin/ Kreuzberg you can find (almost) real italian pizza and ice-cream. This ice-cream parlor is supposed to be the best one in x-berg and I can say the ice-cream is very good. They don't have so much different flavors but the flavors they got are special for Germany like "Keks" / "Cookie", "Honig/ Mandel Quark" / "Honey/Almond-Curd" ... I like the fruit flavors like melon because it actually tastes like you're eating a cold melon.
Since last summer the owner of the ice-cream parlor opened a small pizza place right across where you really get the greatest "Steinofen"-pizza / stone-oven pizza in x-berg. But this spot is very popular and in summer there are a lot of people waiting in line so bring some time with you.

Liegnitzerstrasse Berlin
I just love the old architecture in Berlin. Today I walked across Kreuzberg and there is this little street Liegnitzetstrasse in the Reichenberger Kiez. In this street the buildings are so colorful with a lot of details like the iron balconies which are just amazing.
vernissage "Wear is Art" part II
As I've already mentioned I did I miss the first performance of the evening. I've tried to enjoy the second performance but the gallery was so full that just had the chance see some parts of the show. But the show was also shown in the w.w.w by live-stream (http://www.ustream.tv/channel/wear-is-art) and this stream was projected to a wall in the yard in front of the Dam Stuhltrager Project Space. The performance by Hedo Lux (www.hedolux.com) was just extraordinary. The man in the silver body suit and the high-heels had sexy and mystical charism.
The evening was inspired by fetish and you had the chance to take a closer look at some dazzling character. And so also the guests were very variegated.
A special moment of the evening was the performance of Pelin Pelin a singer and performance artist from London. The guests enjoyed the rough voice combined with the soul music inspired by hip hop and pop. I had the chance to meet her for a short moment and took a photo of her charming smile.
It was a international, successful and especially colorful vernissage with some great artists. So check out the exhibit:
